AN INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

VITRIK was born from a shared vision: to transform glass into an active element of contemporary architecture.

Diego Corazza and Andrea Comparin, first colleagues and then partners, combine technical expertise and entrepreneurial vision to develop a project that goes beyond the traditional concept of glass surfaces. In 2017, they founded VITRIK in Prata di Pordenone, in a region where manufacturing culture and industrial precision are part of the local identity.

Their insight stems from a nearly forgotten technology: PDLC liquid crystal glass. A technology developed in the 1970s that VITRIK has chosen to reinterpret through research, experimentation, and engineering development, transforming it into an advanced solution for contemporary architecture and design.

In addition to PDLC liquid crystal glass solutions for dynamic privacy control, over time VITRIK has developed further technologies capable of providing dynamic solar shading functions as well as innovative combinations of materials and performance, expanding the design possibilities of glass in contemporary architecture.

From the very beginning, the company has grown as a laboratory of design and innovation, where technology, materials, and attention to detail converge to create intelligent surfaces capable of modulating light and privacy with a single gesture.

It is precisely from this research journey that L’ASTRO was born—a project that explores glass not only as an architectural element, but also as an expressive material, capable of engaging with light and space in a more conceptual and experimental dimension.

Today, VITRIK develops advanced glass solutions for yachts, hospitality, private residences, and high-end architectural projects, collaborating with international architects, designers, and planners.

Rooted in the Made in Italy tradition, the company interprets glass as a contemporary material in continuous evolution, capable of interacting with light, space, and architecture.

Constant research and development is the driving force of VITRIK. Our mission is to anticipate the future, continuously evolving the technologies applied to smart glass. This commitment allows us to be pioneers in PDLC (Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal) technology, which enables instant switching between transparent and opaque, offering immediate control over privacy and light.

Alongside the PDLC systems, VITRIK develops and refines PNLC (Polymer Network Liquid Crystal) solutions, a more advanced light modulation technology that delivers smoother transitions, superior optical uniformity and optimal performance even in high light exposure scenarios.

For applications requiring advanced control of visible light, we also integrate SPD (Suspended Particle Device) technology, which offers an unprecedented visual comfort experience.

These three technologies – PDLC, PNLC and SPD – come together in our product ecosystem, making VITRIK not just a manufacturer but a true strategic partner in the future of architecture, interior design and smart surfaces. Our Philosophy

We are structured to support industry professionals, such as architects, engineers and interior designers, right from the initial stages of the project. We don’t just supply a product: we offer comprehensive technical and creative consultancy, managing every commission, from individual private sites to large international contracts. Every glass panel, control system and finish is custom designed to integrate perfectly with the architectural vision and specific needs of the client, ensuring an end result that is not only functional, but also an authentic expression of style and innovation.

VK Design has been tested by independent laboratories to ensure its excellent performance in terms of safety, sound insulation and resistance to mechanical stresses, high temperatures and water, in compliance with international regulations.

  • Resistance to high temperature and humidity with condensation in laminated glass as per standard UNI EN 12600-4:2004 with reference to harmonised standard UNI EN 14449:2005 CLASS 1(B)1

  • Resistance to high temperature and humidity with condensation in laminated glass as per standard UNI EN ISO 12543-4:2011 with reference to harmonised standard UNI EN 14449:2005

  • Laboratory measurement of airborne sound insulation as per standards UNI EN ISO 10140-2:2010 and UNI EN ISO 717-1:2013 with reference to harmonised standard UNI EN 1279-5:2010 on laminated glass

  • Protection rating test for IPX7, clause 9.2.8 IEC 60598-1:2014+A1:2017 / EN 60598-1:2015+A1:2018

  • UL 962 certification for North America: safety standard for household and commercial furnishings.
